Quotable Sundays

Pardon my language but it’s been one hell of an amazing week. I’m a little late with my Sunday post so my apologies. I’ve been a little drunk on love and adventure. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this week and spent time in this quaint yet picturesque village.

As we reminisced about our past years and made plans for our future this quote by Henry David Thoreau  came to mind:
I declare that my life, our lives will be dominated by positive thoughts and the drive to achieve our dreams.

I am reblogging this piece written by kinfolk collective.  Such a powerful written piece. It’s been a couple of days since I first read it and I am deeply affected.  Dinner or Dignity: Expecting the Poor to Remain Moral

A few days ago my son and I went grocery shopping. As a general rule, I do not take my baby with me to grocery shop because as any mother of young children – my son turns seven next month – will tell you, a trip for groceries with the children turns into an event […]

Quotable Sundays

I would like to rewind to this past Sunday when I went on my apple picking adventure became the week went downhill from there.I get a do over because it’s a brand new week, a brand new day.

Yesterday I had a conversation with one of my offspring about the importance of making oneself a priority. Actually I talked maybe lectured and he listened. A couple of hours later I came across this post.

I do believe that in order to make the contribution to the world that you were destined to, you have to take care of every part of you. Stay healthy, my friends in heart, soul, mind and being.

Sunshine thoughts anyone?

In my part of the world right now, skies oscillate between dastardly grey and peek a boo yellow. It takes my mood along for the tempestuous ride. It looks like I’m not the only one on that journey so I decided to share some sunny thoughts with you. Hope it brightens up your moments!

Picture in my mind

I looked at him from across the room

do you think he saw the look in my eyes

I felt my lips give that smile

you know the one that says “of course, yes”

was he stealthily moving towards me

was my heart thundering as loudly

as if there was a hurricane

I shivered as I felt his hand touch my arm

as if to say, “Come with me”

I smiled as I gazed into my husband’s eyes

and we floated into the cool, crisp fall night

hand in hand, skin on fire

The main reason I live is because

You make me feel good (I feel good)
Baby, I feel good all over (Baby, I feel good all over)
When I think about all the good things you do, you do to me, baby
(I feel good) Oh…oh… (I feel good)
Baby, I feel good all, all, all over (Baby, I feel good all over)
The way you hold me and smile my way
(I feel good) Oh… (I feel good)
I…I feel good, you make me, make me feel so, feel so good (Baby, I feel good all over)
Yeah…yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel so good, oh…oh…yeah

Quotable Sundays

I may not have completed all the assignments in my Blogging 101 and Writng 101 courses but I have read every single one. In my attempt to have more of a consistent presence on my blog, I will share a quote which will be my inspiration for the week or has captured my shenanigans of the week past.

In my mind, the song Wild Child by Kenny Chesney is secretly about me as I slowly become the older woman and seeing this quote reminds me it’s okay to be a little wild at heart because that’s what makes me beautiful.
