I Wanna Stay Happy

Yup, this entire piece will not be written in the Queen’s English. It’s been a long week and I am requesting some permission to whine a bit …. Hmmm. Nope. I am not requesting.

Actually I am going to hum Pharell’s song

It might seem crazy what I’m about to say, Because I’m happy, clap along if you feel that’s what you wanna do

Maybe it’s the long, temperamental and insufferable winter weather, the lousy business (did I say I work retail), the news media who drive me nuts with the only bad news reporting, the fact that I’m toiling with no end in sight and darn it, I have been diligent and still haven’t won the lotto! Okay, that last one though true is only happening in my dreams. Everyone I met this week has been dealing with something and needed an ear or two.

Now I have decided to lay claim to happiness – my happiness. So it’s cheers to breathtaking sunsets, hugs from my babies, kisses from Him, movie nights with childhood friends, visits from long list clients, that glass of Cabernet while listening to Bob Marley, Luciano, Coltrane or Nat King Cole. Darn it, I will be happy and I will be thankful. I am thankful for my happiness. Come on, be happy and share that happiness cause “happiness is the truth.”
